The Brand New MINI Electric Dirt Bike – ZAWES S3 First Review
It’s finally here! At the end of 2025, the long-awaited ZAWES S3, a mini electric dirt bike built for kids (and adults who refuse to grow up), has officially hit the market. I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to throw a leg over it, and after a full weekend of ripping around tracks, backyards, and even a little sneaky street riding, here’s my honest first impressions.
Looks: Instant “WOW” Factor
The ZAWES S3 looks like someone shrunk a full-size electric dirt bike and made it even cuter without losing any aggression. The sharp LED headlight, chunky off-road tires, and exposed aluminum frame give it a proper little monster vibe. It’s available in five colors (my test bike was the matte Racing Red), and every single person who saw it—kids and adults alike—immediately said the same thing: “I want one.”
Size-wise, it’s perfect for 6–14-year-olds but surprisingly accommodating for adults up to about 5’10” (178 cm) if you just want to mess around or teach someone how to ride.

Riding Impressions
The moment you twist the throttle, the S3 launches with zero hesitation. The 3000 W motor feels punchy way beyond what you’d expect from a “kids” bike. Power delivery is smooth but instant—perfect for learning or absolutely shredding berms when set to full power mode.
The adjustable speed limiter is genius. Twist the key to “Parent Mode” and you can cap it at 15, 25, or 35 km/h. Switch to “Race Mode” and the full 48 km/h is yours. My 9-year-old tester loved the slow mode on day one, and by day three he was begging for full power.
Suspension is legitimately good. It soaked up jumps on a proper mini SX track without bottoming out, even when I (85 kg adult) sent it off a few tabletops “for science.” The hydraulic brakes are strong and progressive—no sudden nose dives.
Battery & Range
In real-world conditions (mix of trail, grass, and some tarmac), I managed 48–52 km on a single charge with an average rider weight of ~55 kg. Push it hard with an adult rider and you’ll probably see 35–40 km. Still impressive for the size and price.
What I Loved
- Insane fun-to-dollar ratio
- Build quality feels premium ( CNC parts, aviation-grade aluminum)
- Removable battery—huge win for charging indoors
- Super quiet—neighbors won’t hate you
- Adjustable everything: speed, suspension, handlebar height
Minor Gripes
- No reverse gear (common in this class, but would be nice)
- Stock tires are good on dirt but a bit slippery on wet grass
- Seat is pretty firm after 45+ minutes
Verdict
The ZAWES S3 isn’t just a toy—it’s a legitimate mini electric dirt bike that punches way above its weight. Whether you’re buying it for a kid who’s outgrowing their pedal bike or you’re an adult looking for the ultimate pit bike that doesn’t need gas, this thing delivers stupid amounts of fun in a tiny package.
If you’re on the fence, jump off it and pre-order one. Trust me, the first time your kid (or you) hits a jump and lands with a massive grin, you’ll know it was worth every penny.
Score: 9.5/10 – basically perfect for what it is.
Ride safe and send it!
